Hello everyone!
I recently visited the construction site of the magnificent commercial project, Platinum Hotel & Restaurant, located in Itarsi (NH-69, Hoshangabad Road), Madhya Pradesh. As an architect, visiting the site to monitor progress, inspect structural details, and discuss every intricate aspect with the team on the ground is always a rewarding experience.
In today's blog post, I'm sharing some key highlights and construction updates from this visit:
🏢 1. The Royal Facade & Elevation
The front elevation of the hotel boasts a grand and attractive look. The classic design with imposing columns and the golden lions at the top gives the property a premium and royal identity on the highway. It is fantastic to see the original vision for the exterior coming to life so beautifully.
🏗️ 2. Structural Work & Safety First
Work on the new construction block is progressing rapidly with strict adherence to safety protocols. As seen in the site pictures, the entire under-construction structure is well-covered from the outside with black scaffolding nets. This is a crucial step not only for the safety of the workers on-site but also to protect the surrounding environment from construction dust and debris.
💧 3. Slab Casting & Proper Curing
During the visit, I inspected the recently cast concrete slab. For concrete to achieve its maximum strength, proper curing is absolutely essential. You can see in the photos that curing is being executed thoroughly using the 'Ponding Method' (creating small rectangular blocks to hold water), which is vital for the longevity and durability of the structure.
🛠️ 4. Formwork & Shoring Inspection
A close inspection of the shuttering and MS props (shoring) placed beneath the slab was also conducted. The density and precise alignment of the props on site ensure that the load of the wet slab is distributed evenly and that there is absolutely no compromise on structural stability.
🤝 5. On-Site Team Discussion & Review
The success of any architectural project relies heavily on teamwork and clear communication. On-site, we reviewed the drawings and design details with the client and execution team. These regular meetings and on-the-spot problem-solving sessions ensure that the execution aligns perfectly with the planned design and maintains the highest standards of perfection.
Conclusion:
Once completed, this extension of the Platinum Hotel & Restaurant is set to become a major landmark in this region along NH-69. From the initial design phase to ground-level execution, quality is being maintained at every single step.
